Space NK Sample Sale Haul and Experience 2018 NYC

Being someone who gets a thrill off of seeking a bargain, I am surprised I have never been to a sample sale before.  Living close to New York City, I would always check out what other people were posting but I never intended on attending one myself.  That all changed when I came across Sharamtoaster’s haul from the Space NK’s Sample sale and I was hooked.  Space NK is an European based luxury beauty retailer that has a curated collection of high end products.  I think a big factor that reeled me in is when I learned that it was not a yearly occurrence. In fact, the last one seems to be from 2010 so I knew I wouldn’t want to miss out. I had a whole game plan of getting there super early but thanks to the gloomy rainy conditions and traffic, I arrived at the sample sale 2 hours after I originally intended.  I had been warned that lines would be daunting but I only had to wait for about 20 minutes. Once I was in, I started checking out the baskets of people around me to get a feel for what was available. I spotted Diptyque candles, Sunday Riley skincare products, and Tata Harper’s green packaging and I was on a mission to find the same for myself.  Here are the products I ended up coming home with:

All together the retail value was over $714 and my total was $195 without tax.  There was a strict limit of 5 items per category (skincare, makeup, hair, tools) so I had to leave a few items behind.  Most notably so I regretted leaving behind the Hourglass Modernist eyeshadow palette for $10 and Kevyn Aucoin’s Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting in Sunlight for $10 as well.  The strict limit though is something I worked to my advantage.  Most people were picking up more than the allotted amount so at checkout they had to remove some items.  I waited patiently and stalked the return baskets and politely asked the associates if I wanted anything from them.  I was able to score my Tata Harper, Diptyque and Foreo items this way!

 

My main motivation was to go for Sunday Riley and unfortunately I was unable to grab anything.  Other products that were on my list were Hourglass powders, Christophe Robin and Ouai hair care, Caudalie, UMA and Omorovicza. Unfortunately, they were all out of stock.

 

The sale is currently on going until Sunday, April 1st at: 260 Sample Sale, 260 Fifth Avenue, New York, New York.  The best part is that the discounts were as good as they were advertised so if you end up going, I wish you luck in finding what you are looking for!

      They really were! For the remaining of the sale, they are giving an extra 20% off! I don’t live too close otherwise I would have gone in again.
